Amalfi and Ravello

Amalfi is the most famous and ancient Maritime Republic. The inventor of the compass was Flavio Gioia was born here.


Visit to the monumental Cathedral in the very centre of Amalfi. In front of the Cathedral is a wide stairway consecrated to St. Andrew in the IX century. The façade of the Cathedral is spectacular, a mosaic made in the 19th century decorates the upper part of the façade. Visit to the “Chiostro del Paradiso” (Paradise Cloister). Walk to the historical centre of the city through picturesque lanes.

Travel to Ravello, a wonderful place of natural beauty. Ravello is famous thanks to the great views to the hillside from its stands and its ancient villas. Visit to St. Pantaleone Cathedral and Villa Rufolo which beauty ispired Richard Wagner to create the masterpiece “Parsifal”. Every year concerts in his honour are played in the Villa.
